On Friday, Dec. 20, at  8 p.m.he New Brunswick Jazz Project will present the Evan Sherman Big Band-Holiday Swing in concert at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. 

Founded in 2014, the Evan Sherman Big Band is a 16-piece ensemble of jazz veterans and New York’s most dynamic young musicians. Continuing to garner praise from worldwide audiences and critics alike, the big band has been featured at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Rainbow Room, Ginny’s Supper Club in Harlem, The Django in TriBeca, Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night’s Swing, Caramoor Jazz Festival, SteelStacks (PA), and the Perth International Arts Festival (Australia). 

​Regular members of this stellar ensemble have included: Frank Lacy (trombone/vocals), Ben Wolfe (bass), Lew Soloff, James Zollar, Bruce Harris, Alphonso Horne (trumpet), Jerry Dodgion, Patrick Bartley, Godwin Louis, Jerry Weldon (sax). The band has also frequenlty included special guests such as Jon Batiste, the late Roy Hargrove, Johnny O'Neal and Cyrus Chestnut.
