NEW JERSEY - Officer Michael Teel, who took part in the search and recovery efforts in the moments after the 9/11 attacks, succumbed to cancer. 

Sgt. Charles Wilson III and Patrolman Gary Walker passed away after contracting COVID-19. 

Lt. Leroy Palmer died from complications after suffering a gunshot wound in the line of duty years earlier.

The New Jersey Police Chiefs Foundation honored the lives and paid tribute to the service of its fallen officers with its annual moment of silence on Tuesday.

Following the 11 a.m. silent tribute, a special “virtual memorial” video was released.Those who were remembered Tuesday include:
