NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - A city man was arrested today and charged with sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend and assaulting a bystander who tried to intervene, Rutgers University police said.
Frank Ferraro, 26, was arrested and charged with sexual assault and aggravated assault, university police said.
They said the victim was attacked about 5:27 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, at the intersection of Abeel Street and Elijah Way.

The victim, who is not associated with the university, told police Ferraro struck her multiple times.
Police said a witness attempted to intervened and assist the woman, and Ferraro struck that person with a blunt object then ran away down George Street.
Both the woman and the bystander sustained sustained injuries described as non life-threatening, and both refused medical treatment, police said.
At about 1:15 a.m. today, Rutgers police located and arrested Ferraro, authorities said.
Ferraro is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in North Brunswick.
