SUMMIT, NJ - The 5th Grade Pioneers (D Level) held on to defeat the Parsippany Redhawks last Sunday at Metro Homes/Tatlock Field in Summit. New Providence scored on their first possession and never trailed in the game. They went on to score two more touchdowns to go up 20-0 at the half. The Redhawks attempted a late comeback in the fourth quarter scoring twice. With less than 2:00 minutes remaining in the game, the Pioneers relied on their defense to hold on for the 20-13 win. The win secured the team a spot in the NJSYFL "D" Division Super Bowl, representing the National Division.

The Pioneers travel to Bloomfield to play Richmond Boro of Staten Island in the Super Bowl game this Sunday, November 20th. The game will be held at 10 a.m. at Foley Field, John F. Kennedy Dr. North.

The players and coaches would like to thank everyone who came out last Sunday for their tremendous support throughout the game.  Bring your high-energy Pioneer spirit to Bloomfield this Sunday and cheer on the 5th grade for their last game of the season.
