Associates in Cardiovascular Disease (AICD), a leading cardiology group that focuses exclusively on cardiovascular care from prevention through intervention, announces the opening of its state-of-the-art New Providence office. The practice is moving just a half-mile from its previous location at 29 South Street.  The new AICD office at 571 Central Avenue, suite 115, was designed with patient convenience in mind. This first floor office suite features additional testing capabilities and examination rooms as well as new diagnostic equipment.

Six board-certified cardiologists — Drs. John Farry, Steven Furer, Sidney Glasofer, Robert Mich, Steven Sheris and Michael Weinrauch — treat patients at the AICD New Providence office. Drs. Barry Cohen, Robert Fishberg, Steven Furer, Michael Lux, David Powell, Sanjiv Prasad, Roberto Roberti, Elliott Stein, Vance Weber and Michael Weinrauch will continue to see patients at the AICD Springfield office located at 211 Mountain Avenue.

“We now have an advanced facility in New Providence that will be recognized as one of the best sites to receive cardiovascular care,” said Steven Sheris, MD, FACC, a partner at AICD. “This location provides a collaborative setting for our highly trained physicians in an office suite designed for leading edge cardiovascular care and testing.”

AICD’s new cardiovascular care suite is patient-centered, with ample parking available and an easily reached first floor location. There are no elevators, ramps or steps to climb, and the facility is handicapped-accessible. Patients will appreciate the centralized check-in/check-out station, where they can also schedule future appointments.

The expert physicians of Associates in Cardiovascular Disease are committed to providing the highest quality care.  This commitment is clearly illustrated though its alignment with Atlantic Health System, which is one of the leading health systems in northern New Jersey, and includes Overlook, Morristown and Newton Medical Centers.  This strategic partnership enhances the coordination of care for patients and enables AICD to provide comprehensive cardiovascular evaluations and treatments with streamlined communication between the outpatient and inpatient settings.   All AICD physicians are on staff at Overlook and Morristown Medical Centers, and many hold leadership positions at these facilities.

“We have a new state of the art facility but our focus remains patient centered,” said Sidney Glasofer, MD, FACC, a partner at AICD. “We will continue to be there for our patients both in the office setting and in the hospital.”

The relocated New Providence office at 571 Central Avenue, suite 115, opens at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29. The phone number, fax number and website address remain unchanged.  AICD’s office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The practice’s medical records are fully electronic, so doctors and staff will have immediate access to patient records on opening day.

Letter to NP Mayor and Council

I am writing to express my dismay at the New Providence Council’s actions at its February 12th meeting. The council voted to allow up to three council members (up from 2) to attend committee meetings. Because of Sunshine Laws no more than three can attend a meeting.  In my opion, the objective was to squeeze-out Mayor Morgan from committee meetings.  Without going into ...
