B.I.G. Donates Warm Winter Clothing to Local Community Agency

Member of B.I.G. gather at their December meeting.
NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Members of "Believe, Inspire, Grow," or B.I.G., the support, education, and networking group for women entrepreneurs in and around New Providence, collected mittens, gloves, hats and other warm winter wear at their December meeting for donation to the Agape Community Kitchen, an agency which serves people in Elizabeth.

The Agape Community Kitchen is a volunteer youth group which serves weekly meals to 300 people. They also distribute coats, shirts, jeans, underwear, socks, blankets and toiletries to people who spend their time outside, whether they are homeless or part of a shelter system.

“People who struggle don’t just live far, far away,” said Kristin Pirich, program administrator. The Agape Kitchen teaches area youth that there are plenty of people in nearby communities who need help. “The program teaches them to act locally.” Agape operates out of the Presbyterian Church in Westfield.
