BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Berkeley Aquatic Club (BAC) will host their annual long course winter meet, the CeraVe Invitational, January 13-15th, 2017 at the Rutgers University Sonny Werblin Recreation Center in Piscataway. The BAC has been placing qualified and highly motivated high school student applicants for a Journalism Internship with the Swimming World Magazine, a publication internationally published and syndicated.

The BAC is sponsoring this exciting opportunity for high school students to partner with professional journalists to learn sports journalism and to gain hands on experience. The duties for the interns include writing articles, taking pictures, making videos and conducting interviews. Their work will be posted to Swimming World Magazine’s website. The professionals at Swimming World Magazine will guide the interns throughout the meet.

Twelve students have been selected in each of the past years to participate. The BAC sponsors the opportunity annually to provide journalism experience to high school students in New Jersey. Celeste Cirillo-Penn, who attended Cornell University after her high school CeraVe internship said, “Interning for Swimming World Magazine was an exciting and enlightening experience. I got to experience what it is like to work a real event, and the hands on training and assistance I received had really improved my journalism. The Feedback we were given on our articles was instrumental in improving not only the technical aspects of my writing, but also the content. I would definitely recommend this internship.”
