NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – The Pioneer boys’ lacrosse opened their state title run with an 18-0 victory over New Egypt on Saturday at Lieder Field.

Senior Jack Harvey led No. 1 New Providence with his second straight 15-point performance, scoring eight goals and dishing out seven assists.

Junior Quinn Killeen added five goals in the game, while junior Johnny Shahpazian ripped in three of his own.

Goalkeeper Garrett Pope was barely relevant in the outcome, seeing only four saves in the contest.

The top-seeded Pioneers host Barnegat in the South Jersey, Group 1 tournament on Tuesday at Lieder Field.
