"You have to support your local businesses because those are the ones that make a tremendous impact in the long term," said Chris Wang, Buy Local NJ.

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - One of the best parts of being the editor of a TAPinto.net news site is interviewing people that stand out in our community -- doing the right thing for the right reason. Chris and Andy Wang are two such people.

Chris and Andy Wang are celebrating two years of producing an online series of Buy Local NJ videos featuring the fabric of our communities -- local business owners and their stories. The Wang brothers have produced 100 videos featuring over 80 local businesses in 27 towns across New Jersey. "It has been a journey covering local businesses in New Jersey for two years," said Chris Wang.

Chris and Andy Wang grew up in Chatham frequenting the businesses in our area. As they drove down Main Street and Springfield Avenue, they noticed vacant storefronts with many businesses struggling. As businesses owners of Runnymede Capital Management, a 28-year family run financial business, they wanted to do something to help.

They asked themselves, "how can we spotlight these local businesses and really show the character of our towns and communities."

"It's the local businesses that add to the character of our towns and communities. We need them. --- The communities wouldn't be the same without them," said Andy Wang.

We need to be cognizant of the importance and the impact supporting local businesses has in our community more than ever. "For every $100 you spend locally, $68 stays in our community. That's a positive impact. -- There are so many positives," said Andy Wang.

Chris Wang added, "I do believe there is a high cost that people don't think about when they are just looking for the lowest price. --- These businesses that employ people in town, they have kids in school in town, and they are spending time and money in the community. You have to support your local businesses because those are the ones that make a tremendous impact in the long term."

As we enter into the holiday season, remember to shop, dine and support local through the holidays and all year long.
