CHATHAM, NJ - The winning "Jersey Cash 5" ticket worth $172,949 drawn on Saturday was purchased at the BuyRite Wine & Liquor Store at 650 Shunpike Rd., Chatham Township.

None of the three employees questioned Tuesday at the store knew that the winning ticket had been purchased at the Chatham Mall establishment. They all declined to give their full names for publication.

The BuyRite in Chatham had previously been known as Chatham Wine & Liquor before it moved a couple doors down to its bigger location in the same mall a couple of years back.

Carole Hedinger, New Jerey Lottery executive director, said the top prize-winning ticket was the only one sold for Saturday’s drawing that matched all five numbers drawn. The winning numbers were: 07, 09, 16, 17 and 21.

“We are pleased that the winning jackpot ticket was sold at Chatham (BuyRite), Hedinger said. “For selling this ticket, the retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000. Overnight, it has become one more ‘lucky location’ for the very fortunate lottery winner.”

The proprietor of the Chatham BuyRite is P.J. Joshi.
