UNION COUNTY, NJ - Former New Providence head wrestling coach Gary Bremer was honored by the Union County Wrestling Coaches Association with the Ralph "Pug" Williams Award for his contribution to the sport at Saturday's Union County Wrestling Tournament at Union High School. 

Bremer spent 30 years at the helm of the New Providence High School Wrestling  program and was honored to be recognized by coaches he had worked with over the past 35 years.  

"I am thrilled and honored to receive the award," said Bremer. "It meant so much to me because it was from my fellow Union County coaches, who I have worked with for the last 35 years."

Bremer described the wrestling community as being like a very large extended family "that will always be part of my family." 

"I would like to thank all my assistant coaches who have helped so much over the years. I also would like to thank the New Providence Wrestling Fans, all of my wrestlers and my wife," said Bremer.
