Connection's 'Crew' Dance Team Auditions for 2016-17 Season Begin June 17-18

SUMMIT, NJ - The 'Connection Crew,' the Connecton for Women and Families' competitive dance team, will hold auditions for the 2016-17 season beginning June 17-18.

The Connection Crew's mission is to build well-rounded dancers and encourage team building in a safe, fun and competitive environment. The 2015-16 'Crew' was made up of five levels of dancers ages 5-18 who received high honors at competitions including overall placements and special awards.

The audtion schedule is as follows:

 - Ages 5-7: June 17,  from 4 - 6 p.m.

- Ages 8-10: June 18, from 10:30 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.

- Ages 11+: June 18, from 1:45 - 4:15 p.m.

- Acro Team, ages 8+ only: June 18, from 1 - 1:45 p.m.

Call backs will be held June 20 and 22.

New options available for the 2016-17 season include the opportunity for dancers to take more classes, compete at a higher level, and train in a more competitive atmosphere.

Team members will continue to be able to compete solos, duets, and trios, while also working toward being a part of the new Elite Team, and a production number is also in the works.

There will still be options though for dancers to take the minimum (3) required classes per week, compete at the beginner level, and be part of a less competitive environment. All dancers will also have opportunities to perform at community events and special events at The Connection.

“The beauty of the dance and performing arts program at The Connection is that we are able to offer such a diverse selection of opportunities for dancers of all levels. Our dance and performing arts program allows kids and adults to enjoy our classes in a relaxed, recreational setting while learning from professionals,” said Jessica Fascenelli Weisenbach, The Connection's Dance and Performing Arts Director / Dance Team Coach, .

She added, “Our dance team has also always offered more recreational options, but as the team grows and matures we have implemented more competitive options to answer the needs of our dancers and parents. We had an excellent and very successful season and we look forward to all of the exciting things to come!”
