BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - In recognition of National Grandparents Day, Autumn Lake Health Care at Berkeley Heights hosted a special event that included dancers from Star Struck Dance Studio to share their talent and bring joy to the residents and family members.

National Grandparents Day offers us an opportunity to not only thank our grandparents, but to spend time with them. The thought behind National Grandparents Day is to encourage families to recognize, value and appreciate the wisdom and heritage their grandparents can share with them.

An additional important message behind National Grandparents Day is a simple one -- let the elderly know you love them. It is not uncommon for the elderly to face loneliness. Considering this reality, family members can help to prevent loneliness by visiting, call to make a special date -- and join your loved one for one of their regularly scheduled activities.

Letter to NP Mayor and Council

February 17, 2018

I am writing to express my dismay at the New Providence Council’s actions at its February 12th meeting. The council voted to allow up to three council members (up from 2) to attend committee meetings. Because of Sunshine Laws no more than three can attend a meeting.  In my opion, the objective was to squeeze-out Mayor Morgan from committee meetings.  Without going into ...

Letter to New Providence Borough Council

Dear Council Member-

I attended the Borough Council meeting on Feb 12, 2018.  I brought my 2 young children to this meeting to see democracy in action in our new hometown but I was left speechless.

It was an obvious display of overreach by the Borough Council.  It absolutely makes no sense at all that the Council wants Three Council Members to attend every Volunteer ...
