SUMMIT, NJ - A smorgasbord of delicious opportunities awaits Hilltop City "foodies" as Summit Downtown, Inc. (SDI) is set to host Summit’s eighth annual Restaurant Week February 19-28, celebrating all the Epicurean delights available downtown.
Summit’s food scene has been recently enhanced, most notably with the reopening of the completely reinvented The Office Tavern Grill at 61 Union Place. Also, south of the border cuisine aficionados have a new option in as Rosalita Mexican has debuted at 10 Maple St.
Many restaurants will offer special $20.16 prix fixe menus for the week, while other restaurants and shops will feature discounts and special menu items.
For example, The Office Tavern Grill will offer a "Colorado Road Trip" menu, featuring items such as a bison burger, chicken fajita pizza, coffee rubbed rack of lamb, and a stout chocolate cheesecake.
Purveyors of wines and spirits will present discounts so customers can enjoy their favorite libations at one of Summit’s many BYOB restaurants.
A Restaurant Week Photo Contest, sponsored by SDI, will enable patrons to snap a picture of their meal at a participating establishment during Restaurant Week then email it to email@example.com by March 1 for a chance to win $100.
Entrants must include their name, where the photo was taken, and a brief description. All photos will be posted on the Summit Downtown, Inc. Facebook page. Two "Best in Show" winners will be chosen by Summit's Peter Wallburg Studios, with photo receiving the most likes on Facebook also winning $100. There is a limit of three entries per person.
An updated list of participating restaurants and food shops is available by visiting summitdowntown.org.
