Movie - Water
Tuesday evening, October 12, 6:30pm – 8:30pm Note early starting time.
Set against Gandhi's rise to power, Water tells the profoundly moving story of Chuyla, an Indian girl married and widowed at eight years old, who is sent away to a home where Hindu widows must live in penitence. Chuyla's feisty presence deeply affects the other residents, forcing each to confront their faith and society's prejudices. Extremist groups waged a campaign of death threats, arson and riots to stop the production of this controversial film but director Deepa Mehta would not be silenced. (In Hindi with English subtitles)

Movie - Oceans
Tuesday evening, October 26, 7:00pm – 8:40pm
This ecological drama/documentary was filmed throughout the globe. Part thriller, part meditation on the vanishing wonders of the sub-aquatic worlds, this film shows a variety of images of undersea creatures - those that men consider to be both friend and foe.
