MARTINSVILLE, NJ – New Providence senior running back Ibn Nash finally had his lasting moment as a Pioneer football player.
With Saturday’s game at Pingry School still close in the fourth quarter, Nash scored two late touchdown runs to lead New Providence past the Big Blue, 34-20.
Nash and senior quarterback Jack Harvey accounted for all five scores as the Pioneers improved to 2-1 on the year.
The duo connected for the game’s first score with a 38-yard touchdown pass in the opening quarter.
Harvey scored New Providence’s next two touchdowns on 3-yard and 49-yard runs, with Nash providing the winning-blows, racing for 49- and 53-yard scores.
Nash and his quarterback combined for 269 yards on the ground, with Harvey leading the game with a 160-yard performance.
The Pioneers are back in action for a Thursday tilt against Manville at Lieder Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
