Golden Crew: The Connection's Dance Team Brings Home Top Honors

SUMMIT, NJ - The Connection Crew Dance Team delivered a powerhouse performance at their first competition of the season, with the girls, aged 5 - 18, claiming numerous gold-level honors at the National Dance Showcase in West Orange.

Glitter and Sparkle Teams

The group earned a high gold and top mini small group for their routine “Breakout,” while “Let's Get Loud” received a high gold, and “Colors Of The Wind” brought home a gold award for the Sparkle Team.

Silver Team

“The Future Sounds Like Us” received a gold award, and “Holla At The DJ” earned a high gold.

Gold and Platinum Teams

Appropriately, the Gold Team earned both a high gold and top petite large group for “Me & My Girls”, and a gold award and the American Beauties special judges’ award for “Firework," while “Le Jazz Hot” and Night Terrors” received high gold awards for the Platinum Team.

In the duo / trio category, “Invisible” received a high gold, “1-2-3 Love” earned a gold, and “Cheetah Love” received both a high gold and the top petite duo/trio award.

“I am very proud of the girls for the hard work and long hours put in before the competition. This is only the first of many exciting competitions that we are looking forward to,” said Jessica Fascenelli Weisenbach, The Connection's Dance & Performing Arts Director and dance team choreographer.

The next stop for the talented crew is Beyond The Stars April 22 - 24 in Somerset, followed by Starpower May 13 -15 in North Caldwell.

The Connection Crew is a competitive dance team whose mission is to build well-rounded dancers and encourage team building in a safe, fun and competitive environment. The Crew is made up of five levels of girls who work through the fall, and perform and compete during the late winter and spring months. Members have the opportunity to compete in Solos, Duets, and Trios, and to be a part of the Elite Team.
