Great Stuff Happening in October!

Come see us in the library during the month of October where we have a variety of events for all age groups and interest levels.

Thursday, 10/1 @6 PM, come out to celebrate the arrival of the new Early Literacy Station, with a 45-minute concert by Presley & Melody. The station, concert and a brand new collection of books have been funded by a library grant for children’s materials from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Sunday, 10/4 from 2PM to 4PM, come out on for an Art Reception to see beautiful paintings by  the SUMIE Group of Chinese brush painters which are on display during the first half of October.  We’ll have light refreshments and a demonstration of Chinese brush painting technique.

Saturday, 10/17 from 10AM to 4PM join us for the Annual Craft Fair.  This year, there will be a selection of goods including jewelry, soap, handmade toys, holiday ornaments, knitted goods and lots more.  Start your Christmas shopping!  This fair is sponsored by the Friends of NPML.

Sunday, 10/18 @2PM join us for the first concert of the Fall season.  Sinatra Says will feature the wonderful songs of Frank Sinatra performed by caberet artist Maggie Worsdale of the Traveling Literary Theater. Ms. Worsdale was named one of the 10 best jazz singers of NJ. Funding is made possible through the generosity of the NP Lions Club, the Paca Club of New Providence, and the Friends of NPML.

Thursday, 10/22 @7:30PM come to hear Rosalind Reisner, an author, librarian and speaker who blogs about books on her site www.areadersplace.net talk about Beyond the Bestsellers: the Best in Recent Literary Fiction and Memoirs for You or Your Book Group.  Is your book group starting to plan for next year? You’ll want to hear about titles that will keep you glued to the page and stimulate great discussions with friends and reading groups.  She'll also point out some resources to find good books. Sponsored by the Friends of NPML.

Thursday, 10/29 @6PM another great program for the whole family, Diggin’ for Dinosaurs is happeningCome out and enjoy the fun.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
