In honor of Albert Einstein’s birthday this week, more than 50 Lantern Hill residents attended a lecture by a fellow resident, Dr. Phil Eisner, titled “Albert Einstein, An Extraordinary Life.” The talk, held on March 13, detailed the life of the most influential scientist of the 20th century.
“I enjoy teaching people,” said Eisner, who moved to Lantern Hill with his wife a few months ago from Summit, New Jersey.
This is the third lecture Eisner, a well-known local scientist, has given at the Erickson Living retirement community in New Providence, New Jersey. Eisner has also presented free lectures on environmental and science issues at local community groups, libraries, NJ retirement homes, and schools.
Eisner received a B.S. in Physics from MIT and Ph.D. in Physics from NYU in 1968. In his career, Dr. Eisner held positions in several scientific research laboratories including ITT Laboratories, the Dewey Space Physics Laboratory, and Exxon Research and Engineering Company.
