Help Friends of Animal Control Solutions Save Stray Pets in Our Area

Friends of Animal Control Solutions is a non-profit Animal Rescue that was created in 2013 to help support Animal Control Solutions LLC, a local animal control provider with their unclaimed dogs and cats. We help raise funds that are needed to prep animals for adoption and treat those that come in sick or injured. Our animals are in foster homes and we hold adoption events on select weekends at different pet stores and community events.

Animal Control Solutions covers a large service area of 20 municipalities in Union/Morris/Hunterdon/Somerset Counties and we do our best to take responsibility for as many homeless animals from their service area that we can after the seven-day stray hold ends. Needless to say, we can use some more foster homes and are trying to build our network.

Since starting our rescue we have already helped find homes for over 350 homeless animals and we want to be able to help more. We are currently looking for foster homes in the Union County area. ACS provides services in Union County to Cranford, Garwood, Westfield, Mountainside, New Providence, and Scotch Plains. Foster homes in these areas would be helpful. We provide all the supplies needed and cover all costs.

Please check out our website Wesupportacs.org to view our volunteer opportunities, adoptable animals and our wish list. Like us on Facebook to follow area Lost/Found Pet postings and adoption updates.

Dear Editor:

As a 26-year-old Scotch Plains resident who cares more about the well-being of our town than about local politics, I am extremely disappointed that the Scotch Plains Democratic Committee leadership has decided to abandon Colleen Mahr in her run for Chair of the Union County Democratic Committee.

As a college admissions representative the first question most students would ask me was whether ...
