NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - On October 27, more than 30 residents from Lantern Hill Retirement Community took a luxury coach bus from campus to the New Jersey Performance Arts Center and enjoyed the debut of internationally renowned conductor Xian  Zhang as New Jersey Symphony Orchestra’s (NJSO) 14th Music Director. Xian conducted a trio of Tchaikovsky scores.

This is the second time Lantern Hill has taken advantage of NJSO’s bus transportation program.  The program, supported by a gift from a generous anonymous donor, offers luxury coach transportation from several active adult communities throughout the state. Subscribers to the full series of concerts in those communities ride for just $5 per concert. Lantern Hill Dining also provides a delicious box lunch for interested residents.

“The experience to the New Jersey Symphony was incredible last time,” said Lantern Hill resident Paul Thau, who attended the concert in September with his wife, Carole.  “Everything was outstanding from the transportation to the performance.  I look forward to seeing the debut of conductor Xian Zhang today.”

“We’re delighted that residents from Lantern Hill are coming to the NJSO’s concerts,” said Catherine Levin, NJSO’s Vice President of Marketing and External Affairs.  “There’s just nothing more thrilling than listening to great music, live – in fact, one of the residents told us that she’d forgotten how much she enjoyed hearing the NJSO. We’re so glad that she’s back and know that all of our guests will come to love the NJSO in the same way.”
