NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ -- Looking for some books to take to the beach this summer, or mysteries, collectible books, children's books, history books, biographies or virtually any other type of book on the market?

Come to the Summit College Club Book Sale between now, Thursday, April 26, and Sunday, April 29, and odds are you will find more than a few books to bring home.

The sale is being held at the American Legion Post 433, 357 Elkwood Ave., New Providence. Proceeds from the sale are used to fund college scholarships for deserving young women in local high schools.

The first two days of the sale were quite busy said club members. who were checking folks out. More than one of the shoppers left carrying a full bag of books. There was a lull shortly after 3, when many people were picking up kids from school and dropping them at sports activities. Then business began to pick up, again.

The sale features thousands of books collected by Summit College Club members. Enter for free and, on the last day of the sale, April 29, fill a grocery bag with books for $5.

Times and hours for the sale, which regularly attracts hundreds of customers, dealers and readers from New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania are:

Thursday, April 25 and 25, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. 

Friday and Saturday, April 27 - 28, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily. 

Sunday, April 29, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. $5 per grocery bag.
