NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Thursday night’s New Providence’s concert series, Family Fun Night, was held inside the New Providence Recreational Center, due to predicted precipitation, and did not disappoint. Cindy Gelormini was featured as the main event. Gelormini, a New Providence resident and renaissance woman; with two recorded albums, Destiny and Eternity; writer and producer of her own show on YouTube, "A Taste for Design” on “Diva TV”; and faith leader at Presbyterian Church in New Providence, entertained the crowd with her country, blues and rock music.

Families began to fill the recreational gym with lawn chairs and blankets, to sit and enjoy a music filled evening, some found the music so rhythmically mesmerizing, that it urged them to their feet to dance. Others were so captivated by the melodies, that it drew them as close as possible to the stage, which was the case with several audience members.

The night’s entertainment wasn’t limited to music, but it would have surely been enough, kids were crowded in the back of the gym, where they had the option of having their face-painted or charmed by the elusiveness of card manipulation tricks. No matter what one did, whether they sat and listened or danced to the sounds of Gelormini and company, had their face-painted or tried to figure out the card tricks, there was enough entertainment to go around.

Sleep out at Covenant House

June 18, 2018

I can enjoy the same movies over and over like it were the first time to see them.  My kids roll their eyes at this.  Well, many unimaginable things happen as you become a certain age, and you tend to learn to accept those things graciously as gift.   But I remember the movie “The Blind Side.”  Until I saw that movie, I didn’t know homeless children ...

What's Hot and What's Not

Summer is a great time to take a step back, sip a cool beverage, and take a look at what’s going on in the world of college admissions.  Departments use the summer to evaluate how their year went and plan on any changes they want to make for the fall.  Did they over-enroll?
