NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Owen Rooney, accompanied by his mother Karen, was recently sworn in as an honorary New Providence Police Officer by Mayor Al Morgan and Police Chief Anthony Buccelli, Jr.

Owen was given a tour of headquarters, shown the dispatch center, trained in techniques detectives use to process a crime scene, and finally went on patrol with Officer TJ Hope in a NPPD police car.

Owen ended his exhausting day of police work at Dunkin Donuts to take a much deserved break with Corporal Wilson.

The Police Department thanked Owen for helping keep New Providence safe.

Owen’s family participated in the Egg My House event run by the New Providence PBA Local # 132 during Easter time this year.
