The inaugural ShareNJ 5K Race To Save Lives Through Organ & Tissue Donation takes place on Sunday, June 12 in New Providence, NJ to raise funds and awareness for  NJ Sharing Network Foundation, an organization created in 2006 to support and promote the donation of organs and tissue for transplantation. The Foundation fosters programs and services for donor families, recipients and those waiting for a life-saving transplant.

Millburn resident Lindsay Ganter, Millburn High School Class of 2005, is captain of Team Will in honor of her brother, Will Ganter, MHS 2008.   Lindsay writes, “On October 18, 2009 Will sustained fatal brain injuries in a car accident and passed away two days later. In the midst of his tragic passing Will’s spirit endures in the gift of life that he gave to four men as well as to their families and friends.”

Family and friends of Will, as well as all who have been touched by those saved by or in need of organ and tissue donation, are invited to join Team Will and walk or run to help save more lives. Team captain Ganter explains, “We have organized team Will Ganter to honor Will, his life, and the life that he has given to others. Along with thousands of other participants, we will be walking/running 3.1 miles on June 12th in honor of those who have given, on behalf of those who have received, and with hope for those who continue to wait for a life-savingtransplant.”
