METUCHEN, NJ - No. 13 seed New Providence baseball upsets No. 4 seed Metuchen, 4-1 in the first round of the NJSIAA Sectional Tournament, Central Jersey Group 2. Peter House pitched a full game allowing just four hits with two strikeouts and a walk in the victory.  

William Faucher and Max Rivkees continue their batting ways as they both drive in 2 RBI apiece going 2-for-4 for the day. Jason DiBenedetto was 2-for-3 with a run scored; Joseph Nave was 1-for-2 with two runs scored, and Matt Timpone went 2-for-2.  

New Providence will travel to Clark to face No. 12 seed Arthur L. Johnson in the quarterfinal round on Thursday, May 26 with a 4 p.m. first pitch.
