The New Providence Board of Education released the following statement on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 to TAPinto New Providence regarding the arrest of a custodial employee of the New Providence Board of Education:

On Tuesday, August 6, 2019, a custodial employee of the New Providence Board of Education (“Board”/”District”) was arrested by the Colonie Computer Crimes Unit.   The Board has been advised this employee is currently being detained in New York. As this is a personnel matter and it involves law enforcement, the District will have no further comment at this time.

When and if appropriate, as information is made known to the District, additional communication will be forthcoming.
