If you have driven through New Providence in the past few days, you could not have missed the colorful new banners welcoming you to town. There are three different designs in the new banner campaign. The fresh new designs include a Welcome message, an environmental Go Green message, and a Get Involved message.
The Welcome banner features images of what New Providence has to offer – great shopping, dining, recreation, businesses and housing options, and ample green space.
The Get Involved banner encourages people to be an active part of the community through music and arts, sports, volunteering, gardening, and recycling.
The Go Green banner features images of New Jersey’s state flower, bird, tree, and insects, reminding people to respect our environment.
The banners were designed by New Providence resident and small business owner, Barbara Singer Friedman at Different by Design, who also designed the previous downtown banners and the New Providence Business Community logo.
In addition to beautifying the downtown, the banners are part of a larger economic development effort. By presenting an attractive, vibrant downtown, New Providence becomes even more appealing to businesses looking to open or relocate. In addition, lively and appealing shopping streets make properties more valuable. The banner campaign is another way to show that New Providence is always striving to make our town the first choice for both businesses and residents.
“We are thrilled with the new banners!” said Michelle Brugger, New Providence Business President. “They bring attention to the downtown and help highlight what New Providence has to offer. They really look beautiful. If you haven’t seen the new banners yet, please come and visit. We are very proud of our town, and our businesses are eager to welcome you!”
The New Providence Business Community serves its members and supports the local community by funding numerous community events. It also holds meetings for members to exchange ideas and experiences, in order to build a proactive and vibrant business community.
