NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – The next leader of the Pioneer varsity football team is Gov. Livingston assistant coach Chet Parlavecchio Jr.
According to the agenda for the New Providence Board of Education meeting scheduled for Monday night, Parlavecchio Jr. is scheduled to be approved at a rate of $11,075.
Currently the defensive coordinator at Delbarton and head boys lacrosse coach at Gov. Livingston High School, Parlavecchio was previously a New Providence boys lacrosse assistant coach before moving to Berkeley Heights.
He is the son of former NFL player and assistant /coach Chet Parlavecchio Sr., who is currently the head football coach at Passaic Valley High School.
If approved, Parlavecchio Jr. will be the third head coach in three years at New Providence High School, replacing Mitch Goodstein who resigned earlier this month. Goodstein spent one year at the helm after being hired to replace Joe Carollo in early 2016.
