NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – The New Providence Farmers' Market is underway and will continue through the end of October.

Held in the parking lot of the Municipal Center, the farmers' market gives area businesses the opportunity to showcase the tastier of their offerings to a public that enjoys the community feeling only a farmers' market can offer.

A few of the vendors at the market represented local businesses that visit farmers markets all around Union County, including Paolo’s Kitchen and Stony Hill Gardens. Paolo’s Kitchen sells pre-made Italian dinners and advertised their delivery and online ordering services. The Stony Hill Gardens tent offered a large selection of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Specific to the New Providence farmers market was Little Jimmy’s Italian Ice, serving various flavors of ices. Next to the ices vendor was a Gourmet Nuts and Dried Fruits tent where a vendor was trying to stay cool in the shade. On the other side of Jimmy’s were volunteers from YoungLife, a Christian organization, who were selling iced coffee as a fundraiser for YoungLife camps.

Murph’s Farm was across from the Italian ices tent; a woman sold various herbs, beans, and fruit. To her right was the Melick’s Town Farm tent selling locally grown, farm fresh fruits and vegetables.

The New Providence farmers market is open every Wednesday from noon until 6 p.m. until the end of October.
