NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - New Providence Independence Day Celebration to be held on July 3rd is a go thanks to the continued generosity of Investors Bank as lead sponsor. The fireworks will begin approximately 9:30 p.m. on South Street from Gales Drive to Springfield Avenue.

Dan White, Investors Bank New Providence Branch Manager, recently presented a check for $5,000 to Ted Kapuscinski, NPBPA Chairman for July 3rd Fireworks Committee, Mayor Al Morgan and Town Administrator Doug Marvin.

White is proud to continue supporting this long-standing community tradition. He remembers back in 2009 when budgets were crunched after the recession hit and Investors Bank stepped up as primary sponsor and has continued to support the event since.  "We have been fortunate to be part of this community and we are proud to continue the support of the New Providence Fireworks Celebration for the past 9 years," said White.

The New Providence Business & Professional Association (NPBPA) took over planning the celebration at the same time as Investors Bank stepped in to sponsor.  Kapuscinski said, "We are very grateful that Investors Bank continues to be the major sponsor of this event.  The NPBPA is about giving back to the community and Investors Bank has been consistently supporting our community for years.  Without such support  this event would not happen.  And without the support of the NPBPA and other businesses, other cherished events in our town would likewise not occur."

Lantern Hill, Dim Sum Villa, Kapuscinski Loungo Architects, Martial Arts for Life, New Providence Downtown Improvement District, NJ Sharing Network, Club Souren, Steve Mcmahon State Farm Agency [New Providence], and Accent Printing have also joined Investors Bank and NPBPA in sponsoring the Independence Day Celebration.

DJ John Souren of Club Souren will provide entertainment from his perch on South Street. There will be juggler Will Shaw, “Chalk on South” (kids of all ages can get a free “bucket” of chalk to create art and messages on the street) and lots of fun for the whole family.

Be sure to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the festivities. Rain date is Wednesday, July 5, same place, same time.

New Providence Business & Professional Association (NPBPA) promotes the New Providence business community; serves as a vehicle to respond to community needs; enhances awareness of New Providence businesses; and unify communications among and between businesses and the community. In addition to sponsoring the annual Independence Celebration, they also sponsor the 5K Race, Summer Concerts, Street Fair, the Christmas Walk, and many other community events.
