Niche is a website which releases lists of what it determines is the "best" in the country. On April 17, it  released its "Best Places to Live" lists. The group ranks the best places to live in each state, as well as the best places to live in the country. At other times of the year, Niche ranks public and private school systems and colleges and universities.

Niche collects and analyzes data from public sources and reviews to produce its rankings.

These data sets include information from the FBI, Department of Education and U.S. Census, just to name a few.
