NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Seventh- and eighth-grade acting students at New Providence Recreation Department will present the comedy/farce “Chateau La Roach” next month.

On Saturday, May 3 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m., the students will perform the play at the Recreation Department stage, 360 Elkwood Ave., New Providence.

The comedy, written by Lauren Wilson and directed by Theresa Turner with set design by Jennifer Huebner, tells the story of a hotel on the shores of Lake Likawamba. The owners discover an enormous cockroach problem as they prepare for a big weekend of visitors, and just when they're trying to make a good impression on a famed travel writer.

The young actors are part of the Recreation Department's Middle School Production Workshop, which teaches students all aspects of producing and performing a play. Tickets are $3 at the door.
