New Providence Middle Schooler Wins County-wide Arbor Day Poetry Contest

UNION, N.J. – A New Providence Middle School student won the 2014 Union County Arbor Day Tournament.

Shanli Jiang, from New Providence, took first place in the contest which included Union County students in grades four to eight.

Jiang had to prepare an original work to promote Arbor Day, while artistically showing the importance of trees in the county.

Justice Chukwuma from Burnett Middle School in Union took second, while Madeline Dwamena from Saint Michael School, also in Union, took third.
