NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - On April 1, 2016, Ptlm. Guerriero stopped Deborah Baum, age 53 of Camden, NJ, after being alerted that her license was suspended. A check of her credentials indicated that she had an outstanding warrant from the City of Camden in the amount of $1000.00. Ms. Baum was released by Camden Municipal Court pending her upcoming appearance.
On April 2, 2016, Ptlm. Guerriero arrested Carlos Flores-Aguirre, age 24, of New Providence for driving while intoxicated. Ptlm. Guerriero conducted a motor vehicle stop after witnessing Mr. Flores-Aguirre operating his vehicle in a carless manner. After conducting an investigation at the scene, it was determined that Mr. Flores-Aguirre was under the influence of alcohol. He was transported back to police headquarters, where he was processed and released to a suitable adult. He has a pending court appearance in New Providence Municipal Court.
On April 6, 2016, a resident reported that an unknown person had entered his vehicle while it was parked at the New Providence train station. The resident had parked his vehicle in the morning hours and upon their return in the evening, approached the vehicle and found that the hazard slights were on. A further inspection of the vehicle found several items misplaced, but, nothing missing.
On April 6, 2016, Sergeant Daniel Henn arrested Hasan James, age 48 of North Brunswick, after it was reported that he had attempted to fraudulently obtain banking items at a local banking institution. After being alerted by the bank of the incident, Mr. James attempted to flee on foot but ultimately surrendered to the New Providence Police. An investigation was completed and he was subsequently charged with forgery, exhibit false documents and resisting arrest. He was lodged in Union County Jail on a full cash bail in the amount of $40,000. Mr. James has an upcoming Superior Court appearance.
