NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Patrol Officers responded to the report of a burglary to a structure on South St. near Mountain Av.  The burglary occurred on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at approximately 5:45pm.  Observed in video surveillance were two male suspects who forcibly made their way into the business office.  One suspect has a noticeable beard.  At the time of the report, the suspects made off with an undetermined amount of cash. Detectives responded to the scene for processing and this matter is under investigation.

On January 15, 2017, Sgt. Donald Sretenovic conducted a motor vehicle stop after receiving a hit on his mobile computer that the registered owner had an outstanding probation warrant from Somerset County.  Sgt. Sretenovic stopped the vehicle on Diamond Hill Road, which was being operated by Brittany Voorhees, age 20 of Hillsborough NJ.  During the course of the motor vehicle stop, Officers uncovered several items of drug paraphernalia.  Ms. Voorhees was subsequently arrested for a violation of probation and also charged for possession of drug paraphernalia.   She was transported to Somerset County Jail and has an upcoming appearance in New Providence Municipal Court.
