NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - On 5/6/18 multiple vehicles were entered on Division Avenue in the overnight hours. All three vehicles were unlocked.  Summit PD also had multiple vehicles entered in the area and one vehicle stolen.  Please be vigilant in locking your doors and bring your keys and valuables inside.

5/4- Corporal Andrew Diamond arrested Tiffany Russo, 37, of Plainfield for possession of Marijuana 50g or less and driving without a license.  The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop Livingston Avenue.  She was released pending a future court appearance.

5/4- Patrolman Nicholas Guerriero arrested Allen Steele, 18, of Summit for Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct.  The arrest stemmed from an altercation at the OLP fair.  He was released pending a future court appearance.

5/7- Patrolman Joseph DiParisi arrested Qadra Brown, 29, of Summit for active warrants out of Belleville and Bound Brook.  Bail was posted and she was released pending future court appearances. 

5/9- Patrolman Christian Cely arrested Thomas Yong, 28, of New Providence for multiple warrants.  he arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Timothy Field Rd.  Mr. Yong also issued multiple motor vehicle summonses.  Bail was posted and he was release pending a future court appearance.       

5/11- Corporal Andrew Diamond arrested Bridget Rissmiller, 40, of Chatham Township for Aggravated Assault on a police officer, Throwing Bodily Fluids and a Police Officer, two counts of Obstruction of the Administration of Law, Reckless Driving, Failure to report an Accident and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.  The arrest stemmed from a Hit and Run accident investigation.  She was processed and released pending a future court appearance.

Watchung Borough Mayor and Council Approve Affordable Housing Settlement

WATCHUNG, NJ -The Watchung Borough Council voted on Thursday night  to settle its third round affordable housing obligation mandated by the state of New Jersey. Watchung Borough’s immunity from builder's remedy lawsuits  expires on June 30.

 Mayor Stephen Pote was forced to cast the deciding vote after the council deadlocked at 3-3.
