New Providence Primary Election Results

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ -  The Republican incumbent council member Dr. Bob Robinson and newcomer Nadine Geoffroy will face off in November against the two new Democrat candidates Jamie Baer Peterson and Keith Doll, for the two available three-year terms that will begin on the Borough Council  in January 2018.

Candidate Bob Robinson (R) received 401 votes and Nadine Geoffroy (R) received 389 votes in the primary results; while Jamie Baer Peterson (D) received 523 votes and Keith Doll (D) receive 480 votes.

Tuesday's ballot sheet said that 1,167 borough voters cast a primary ballot. That is 14.10 percent of total registered voters in New Providence.

In primary results for this year's election of a new New Jersey governor, New Providence voters favored Jack Ciattarelli (R) with 228 votes. Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno (R) placed second with 189 votes.

Philip Murphy (D) received 263 votes for the nomination for next N.J. governor from borough voters, placing before Jim Johnson (D) with 184 votes and the candidate to come in third, John S. Wisniewski (D) with 143 votes.
