NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The annual borough Reorganization Meeting begins at 7 p.m., Jan. 4 in the Council Chambers, 360 Elkwood Avenue, New Providence.
Reorganization meetings following November elections are required by state law to be held in the first seven days of January at which time new or re-elected members of the governing body are sworn to office.
Councilmen Michael Gennaro and Robert Munoz will be sworn to office following their reelection in November. Officers of the New Providence Police Department, Fire Department and Rescue Squad will also be sworn, as well as the presentation of special service awards.
Comments from the mayor and members of the Borough Council will precede the adoption of resolutions and various appointments for professional services – lawyers, engineers, financial officers, architects and others.
