NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - New Providence's snowmen have received a makeover thanks to New Providence High School students and New Providence High School teacher Denise Moser.
"After years of brutal winters, [the snowmen] were not going to make an appearance this year if not for the kids and Ms. Moser," said Roxanne Giacalone of the New Providence Beautification Committee.
New Providence High School students who worked on the project included: Ryan Seth, MaryKate Buckman, Kara Dobias, Emily George, Emily Bian, Brianna Starr, Jordan Detlet, Jessica Trackim, Michele McKnight, Licheng Yang, Thomas Trackim, Skylar Brechbiel, Lara Gavagan, Christina Fernandez, Daisy Kaloshi, Jennifer Savage, and Samantha Scott.
The New Providence Beautification Committee raises money through the sale of black iron address signs to pay for seasonal decorations at the corner of South Street and Springfield Avenue. The Committee also maintains the planters at Boro Hall and contributed to the banners that hang from the street lights. Committee members include Giacalone, Clivia Esposito, Gail Cronin and Perri Everton. The Committee is currently looking for volunteers to join the Committee.
