NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - New Providence could not complete the season sweep of Oak Knoll when they fell 6-0 Tuesday afternoon at Roberts Field.

Despite defeating their foe from Summit in a high scoring affair back in April by a score of 13-7, they were unable to scratch any runs across the board on this day.

The Lady Pioneers outhit the visitors 9-7, but were unable to capitalize on any of their scoring chances throughout the game.

Oak Knoll held a 4-0 lead after three innings, and sealed the deal in the 7th with two more runs for the icing on the cake for the victory.

It is a quick turnaround for New Providence as they take on another county opponent in Union Catholic on Wednesday at Roberts Field at 4 pm.

Right after that, they battle for their season when they travel to Robbinsville in the first round of the Group 2, Central bracket.  New Providence is seeded 15th and is pitted against 2nd seeded Robbinsville, who is 17-4 on the season.
