NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Join your friends and neighbors at Centennial Park on Tuesday, Aug. 1, between 6 and 9 p.m. to celebrate National Night Out. Residents are invited to join their local police officers, EMS and firefighters in a night filled with fun, games, food and music.
The Elefante Family Band will perform at 7 p.m., rain or shine, at the last of this year's summer concerts which are sponsored by the New Providence Business Community. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and, if it rains, don't worry, the concert will be held in the gym.
A Playstation 4 and Skin Deep gift card will be raffled for free to someone in attendance.
There will be a scavenger hunt for kids, with $20 Amazon gift card prizes for the winners.
For the younger set, there will be a bounce house and face painting, and the family will be sure to enjoy the dunk tank and a magician and his fabulous balloon animals.
The Lions Club will be serving hot dogs provided by the Prestige Diner and Ice Cream by Zita’s, all supplied thanks to sponsors and the New Providence Business Community.
This event is supported by the NP Lions, JCP&L and the New Providence Municipal Alliance.
National Night Out was first observed in the United States in 1984. The community-police awareness-raising event is always held on the first Tuesday of August. Whatever format National Night Out takes, its purpose is to let residents meet police officers and learn about local police initiatives, including Neighborhood Watch, drug prevention and other anti-crime efforts.
