TOMS RIVER, NJ - New Providence sophomore Cheney Price was crowned NJSIAA Group 1 Champion in Pole Vault on Saturday at the Bennett Indoor Sports Complex on Saturday clearing a personal best mark of 13 feet.

The top six finishers in each event move on to the Meet of Champions next weekend. The boys will compete on Saturday, February 25, and the girls will compete on Sunday, February 26, both at the Bennett Indoor Track Complex in Toms River. 

Senior Mark Pasquariello also punched his ticket to the Meet of Champions by placing 5th in the 1600 M run in 4:33.47. He placed 7th in the 800 M in 2:03.64.

Other Pioneers Group 1 Boys results: 

Senior Robert Zeto placed 18th in the 400 M run in 54.29.

Senior Johnny Kovacs placed 10th in the 55M run in 6.83.

4 x 400 M Boys Relay Team of junior Paul Seth, senior Cristiano Hocken, senior Raven Santos and Zeto placed 16th in 3:46.36.

Seth placed 9th in Pole Vault clearing 10-00.

Pioneers Group 1 Girls Results:


4 X 400 M Relay Team of freshman Dea Berisha, junior Amanda Mauer, sophomore Jordyn Waeschle, and freshman Maddy Rapuano placed 15th in 4:34.

Berisha placed 23rd in 55 M Hurdles in 10.52.
