Jeffrey Grogan, the Education and Community Engagement Conductor of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will tell members of the Summit Old Guard how "the Power of Music Nurtures the Human Spirit." The presentation will be at the New Providence Municipal Center on Tuesday, April 27. This talk will delve into the various ways that music affects and inspires us. Mr. Grogan will speak about the NJSO'S role in bringing inspiration to all people in New Jersey.

He comes to the Garden State from his most recent post as Director of Orchestras and Associate Professor at the Ithaca College School of Music. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and the University of Michigan.

All area 50-plus active men are invited to attend meetings of the Summit Area Old Guard on Tuesday mornings at the New Providence Municipal Center at 360 Elkwood Avenue. A coffee hour starts at 9:15 that is followed by a 10 AM short business meeting. Old Guard members participate in sports, bridge, hikes, trips, plays, concerts and cultural events.
