At its October 19th Meeting, an Apple Computer representative will update the Old Guard of Summit on new and emerging computer devices and applications.

Internet applications accessed through personal computers and hand-held wireless devices have been growing at a staggering rate.  The Apple representative will describe the role his company is playing in spurring this growth.  He will discuss Apple products, such as the iPod, iPad and iPhone and other devices we may expect to see on the market.  He will describe how computers and wireless devices make use of Internet services like You Tube, Face Book, Twitter, TV boxes and E-Books.  Following the Meeting, the Old Guard's Computer Support Committee will hold a workshop on these matters.

All age 50-plus active men are invited to attend the Tuesday morning meetings of the Summit Area Old Guard.  Meetings are held at the New Providence Municipal Center, 360 Elkwood Avenue, New Providence.  A coffee hour starts at 9:15 a.m., followed by a 10:00 a.m. business meeting brightened by singing and humor.  The speaker begins at 10:30 a.m.

Old Guard members participate in sports, bridge, hikes, trips, plays, concerts and other cultural events.  Call Foster Osborne at 908-273-7472 for more information.  Or log onto the website www.summitoldguard.homestead.com.
