NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Police are investigating the burglary of three vehicles, and the theft of another, on Salem Road early Thursday morning.

According to borough police, two residents reported that sometime during the early morning hours of Thursday, they observed that their vehicles contents had been rummaged through. A third resident reported that one of his vehicles was burglarized, and his 2005 Nissan 350 Z had been stolen from his driveway.

The resident whose vehicle was stolen reported that his dog was barking at approximately 2 a.m., but the man did not realize his vehicle was stolen until later in the morning.

All vehicles were most likely unlocked, police said. The keys were left in the vehicle that was stolen.
