HILLSIDE, NJ - After falling behind by 18 points in the first half, the New Providence boys basketball team almost pulled off a stunner.

Down three in the final seconds, Tyler Curto missed an open 3-pointer as time expired, leading Hillside to a 47-44 victory over the Pioneers.

Trailing 31-13 at halftime, the Pioneers shaved two points off that deficit by the end of the third quarter, then outscored the Comets, 21-8, down the stretch. Matt Romeo scored 10 points to pace New Providence, which dropped to 9-5. Curto finished with nine points and Bryan Sherman added eight points in the loss.
