In two days, we will be holding our PBA holiday blood drive. Although it is a busy time, it is also a critical time for blood donations, and right now, we need every eligible donor to come out and donate. I'm told that donations fall off dramatically around this time of year and last through early January. Our efforts this Friday, December 18th will help save the lives of patients over the Christmas holiday. While elective surgeries decline during this time, accidents tend to increase with so many people traveling, and those with serious illnesses will continue to need life-sustaining blood transfusions.
PLEASE...make a special effort to donate this Friday, December 18th between 11:00am- 4:00pm in the New Providence Memorial Library. New Jersey Blood Services is counting on us to come through so they will be able to fulfill all emergency blood requests that come in. Don't think your one donation won't matter - just ask the children with leukemia…or the pregnant Mom…or the bone marrow recipient!
As a reminder, this drive kicks off the NJBS Holiday Heroes Contest and we would love to see New Providence PBA receive the Heroes Cup at the Nets recognition event. Also, all donors will receive a pair of Nets tickets, maybe we will be amongst the few fans that have seen them win this year! (hahaha) and you will also receive points towards your Red Cell Advantage program.
Give the gift of life - it will be the most meaningful gift you give this holiday season.
Thank you and we hope to see you there!
Have a wonderful holiday season.
