"We want people to forget the outside world when they are here and to take care of themselves," owner Kathy McCready said.  "We want Providence! to be a place that when clients come to our facility, they feel assured that they are in good hands with kind, professional front desk staff,  educated and knowledgeable yoga and fitness teachers and educated, caring, and experienced massage therapists."

McCready’s starting fresh. After managing Terra Sky Center for Wellness for seven years in Summit, McCready decided to do what she does best and open up her own wellness center. Despite all of the challenges of finding the right location, she can finally say “we are opened for business" with knowledge, motivation, and passion.

Since its conception, the business has transformed itself into a full-service health and wellness center offering a wide variety of  services to its clients.  In addition to yoga and fitness classes, the facility also offers several different massage modalities such as its most popular Deep Tissue, Swedish, and Medical massages. Other massage offerings include Hot Stone, Massage Therapy Facial, Prenatal, Barefoot Shiatsu, and Thai Massage.  Providence! will be offering McCready’s own creation -- The  12 Week Sustainable Weight Loss and Wellness Program -- come January, as well as Nutrition Education Seminars,  fun and educational workshops, and Reiki healing.

"We are different than gyms and spas because our entire focus is on wellness and aging. Having a smaller center  allows us the opportunity to give more personal and more individual attention to our clients," McCready said.

McCready, a former professional ballet dancer who has been in the wellness industry for twenty years, has hand picked all of her teachers and staff and is proud to say her staff exudes the  same passion and conviction as she does.

Wellness-based Fitness

Providence! offers an array of group fitness classes, all catered around wellness. The studio offers Vinyasa and Hatha yoga. The Vinyasa classes are breath-based classes that move from posture to posture with attention to alignment and proper breathing. Aside from the relaxation that all yoga classes at Providence! provides, these classes also provide cardiovascular benefit as well as toning and stretching the muscles. Their Hatha classes benefit the body by lengthening the muscles with longer holds of the postures, improving flexibility and posture.

Their Xtend Barre Workout, 55 minutes to gorgeous, is exclusive to Providence! By using a series of isometric exercises and orthopedic stretches, the Xtend system sculpts the body proportionally so that all body parts are equally challenged. This total body workout serves to strengthen, lengthen and stretch the body from top to bottom, from inside out. The end result is a long and lean physique without adding bulk.

Their own creation, Lean Technique gets people fit the fun way. Set to soul stirring music, Lean Technique uses a variety of fitness techniques (light hand held weights, resistance bands, body bars, fitness circles, and one’s own body resistance) and body movements forms to strengthen and sculpt the body, increase metabolism, and improve range of motion in a natural and safe environment.

Personal Training

Providence! also offers personal training.  Pilates, a fitness revolution started by Joseph Pilates, is designed to strengthen the abdominal region, core and low back. Coming soon will be semi -private reformer classes. Pre- registration is a must and and there will be an additional charge for this class.  The GYROTONIC(R) Expansion System-created by Juliu Horvath will keep participants  younger, stronger, and more flexible.  Intended to spiral and move the spine and body, this type of exercise is great for golfers, tennis players, and Moms who have little ones running all around them.  There is no other piece of equipment  in the fitness industry that can do what this equipment can do, said McCready. She also prides herself on having an elite GYROTONIC(R) level 2 trainer available on Fridays from 9:00 - 2:00 for private one-on -one training.

Never done yoga before and too apprehensive to take a public class? Try a private yoga session.  "Yoga has become extremely popular because it helps an individual calm the mind and learn how to breathe while being trength-oriented," McCready said.

The facility also offers a complimentary Meditation and Healing Circle the first Thursday evening of every month.
