In the spirit of giving back, one family has made a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities by hosting a dinner and silent auction at Sette restaurant in Bernardsville on March 17, 2018, raising $26,000 for the non-profit, Our House, Inc., of New Providence.

Philip and Maria Provenzano, of Nutley, organized the fundraising event in honor of Philip's twin brothers, Michael and Andrew. The brothers made a big move out of the family home last year and now live in community-supported housing with Our House. Phil and Carla Provenzano, of Warren, and parents of the siblings, were also instrumental in pulling together this event.

Catherine Colford, Vice President of Development for Our House Foundation, said she is grateful for the Provenzano family and their efforts to support the agency.

“The majority of our adult participants/residents are younger and like the Provenzano twins' move from their family home into an Our House group home,” she said. “Many siblings are very involved in their brother's or sister's lives and we want that to continue.  At Our House we encourage their involvement and are thrilled that Phil and Maria have kicked off the Our House Sibling Campaign!”

The mission of Our House, Inc. is to provide healthy, stimulating, and inclusive environments for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) through community residences, employment services, innovative day programs, social opportunities and related support services designed to help them achieve their full potential for living meaningful and productive lives.

Our House supports 300 individuals with I/DD in five counties across New Jersey. The organization offers programs in towns including: Livingston, Maplewood, West Orange, Verona, Summit, Union, Westfield, New Providence, Millington, Basking Ridge, Berkeley Heights, Bound Brook, Woodbridge, and Bridgewater.
